Macleod's Tables, Isle of Skye
The chief of the Macleods, while in the capital, responded to taunts by telling that he had more magnificent banquetting tables than anything Edinburgh possessed. On Skye, he lead them to Healabhal Mhor (right) to a feast lit by clansman holding flaming torches. In contrast the ruined sheiling in the foreground probably has a more tragic story.
